When it hits 35 I have to give it gas and let off then it's OK for awhile then it does it again. It happens when the car gets warm. After its been running awhile.
What makes this problem better or worse?

It may not be a fuel filter or pump at all. Fuel filters have never been found, in my experience, to solve a problem for drivability. Testing is really needed to find out if you have a fuel supply issue, and air intake issue, even a spark or exhaust issue. Testing is needed.
A restricted fuel filter is certainly going to cause engine performance problems! Acceleration will definitely be affected - if letting up on accelerator pedal seems to restore engine power - that could very well be the result of fuel filter restriction. Have the filter replaced first then go from there.
A fuel pressure test is recommended - not that difficult to perform the pressure test but some automobile repair skills are required. May have lean codes stored in ECM memory .. Scan test also recommended. Recommend replacing fuel filter annually for this vehicle. Good luck with it!
