Trunk latch is broke Trunk won’t open with key or with button on the trunk meaning I can’t get in trunk to open from inside .is there another way to get to the trunk from inside . The back seat only go down also with a button that is in the trunk can u manually drop back seats down CHEVY MALIBU 16

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. It will take some maneuvering, but I am pretty certain you'll be able to release the rear seats if you can access where the latch is. That's the only way to get into the trunk - without breaking in with force which would undoubtedly damage the vehicle. Consider whether the releases are located - physically. I know you cannot get into the trunk, but you know where they go to and can likely get some space between the seats to manipulate the release.
