What is your question?
I got a 2016 Chevy Malibu lt 2.0. I first started to see symptoms when occasionally I will have less power when driving on the highway. After driving for a month with this issue. I had an incident were I was driving on the highway and felt a large jump. Than smelled smoke inside the car. I pulled over to let the engine cool down. Than I drove it back home. I stopped driving the Malibu for two weeks. Now I am having a major issue. My car will start normally. Just when I shift to drive and accelerate. My car will rev but will not move. When I use my code reader I will get code P018b and P2635. Is there any suggestions on what caused my fuel pump sensor issue.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Malibu. The codes P2635 and P018B both point to a fuel delivery issue—P2635 means the fuel pump isn't delivering the expected flow, and P018B indicates a problem with the fuel pressure sensor circuit. That smell you experienced could have been the fuel pump straining or overheating, especially if it’s been failing over time. Now that the car revs but doesn’t move, it’s possible the engine isn’t getting enough fuel pressure to engage properly under load. It's possible there is more going on here but since both codes are fuel-related, I’d start by checking the fuel pump, wiring, and fuel pressure sensor.
