Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. The burning rubber smell from your Malibu could be a sign that your brake pads are not releasing fully after being applied, causing them to drag against the rotor. This can generate excessive heat, leading to that smell. Another possibility is that a brake component was improperly installed or a parking brake cable might be sticking. Since this issue just started after your brake service, I recommend having the brake job re-checked to ensure everything is installed and functioning correctly. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
