What is your question?
I got my camshaft actuator fixed about a month ago to clear a check engine light code. This week check engine light came on again with reduced engine power. The throttle body with the connectors need to be replaced. However, the mechanic is also stating there are oil leaks from the driveshaft seal and the front cover. Could this be caused by the camshaft work? Should a mechanic have noticed these leaks when doing the camshaft? Also, I've never seen oil residue in my driveway.

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. "Camshaft Actuator" and "Camshaft" and "driveshaft seal" are different things. If the leaks were present during the time the car was in the shop, it would be a best practice for a technician to share that information with a customer so that they know what is going on with their vehicle and the potential other services that may need to be performed at a later date which could cost more money so that the owner of the vehicle can make the best decision as to how to move forward. However this makes a lot of assumptions, such as the fact that maybe the leak was not present or was not significant at the time the other work was done. If you would like to, get a second opinion from a shop near you that can get first hand visibility of your concern and give you some real advice. The problem here online is that we can't see it so it's really hard to weigh in. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
