Under the hood by the battery on the driver side

My A/C compressor will not kick on I thought it was a bad compressor but I got under the hood and moved the wires coming from the compressor and it turned on the compressor and the fan but then it stop working could it be the harness to the compressor

What makes this problem better or worse?

It won’t turn on
