What is your question?
My power steering has failed as is described in GM bulletin 15356 and is no longer covered. How do I tell if the motor is gone or just the sensor. And if I get the repair done at a local repair shop does the vehicle need to go back to the dealer to be reprogrammed? Most dealers wont do the reprogramming if they didn't do the whole job. What do I do?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Hello, replacement of the needed component is based on the trouble code (DTC) set in the control module. The bulletin does not list the codes and what they refer to, but the codes and definitions should be available to a technician at a shop near you. Although I cannot be sure, I am not seeing a "reprogramming" direction in the bulletin. I would suggest consulting a local shop near you for guidance. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
