jump starting someone's car

What is your question?

I jumped started a co workers car with mine I just bought a new battery and a few days later I loose all power engine and electrical. Could it have shorted something out? After the fact of going out it doesn't want to move to fast.

What makes this problem better or worse?

It seems to go out when I'm stopped at a idle
