One air temp switch is in the air duct for the engine so the fuel injection computer can do its calculations. For climate control there is a sensor in the car and perhaps for outside air temp if your car has a gauge that reads out side air there will be a sensor in the bumper or gril area. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... Alldata is very easy to navigate http://bit.ly/AllData_Repair_Manuals_Online
you actually have 5 ambient temp sensors you your vehicle although only 1 referred to as "ambient" located behind the front grille on the impact bar (you must remove grille to access). the others IAT in air intake boot, lower duct temp in evaporator plenum left side, heater temp in heater case, lower duct temp in evap plenum right side. what problems are you having and I will try to be more helpful. cliff
