What is your question?
I had no signs of my car having any problems other than needing new tires. The tred had worn and 1 tire continued to need air. I took my car in to get new tires and the service center called me and said I needed new break pads - front and rear and that they would try to grind the rotors. They also said 2 front struts were bad, one rear coil spring was broke and needed a new front control arm with ball joint replaced. The total cost was estimated to be $1750.00. I am 52 years old and drive very much like an "older" person drives. I do put 80 miles of highway miles on my car every weekday driving to and back home from work. After "believing" that my car needed this work done and allowing the work to be done I have had second thoughts and great concerns. The first day home from work I got into my car and soon realized the stearing wheel on my car was not straight. I called the service repair shop. I was not able to talk to a tech right away but told the guy who answered the phone. I started to get really concerned as I was driving down the highway and I started to hear a sound. I pulled over and got out and looked at all 4 tires. They seemed to be OK. I returned back to driving and within minutes the noise was much louder. I began to pull off the side of the road again. I just made it off the road. I got out again only to find the front passenger side wheel sitting sideways with what turned out to be the ball bearing broke and hanging down on the rim of my wheel. I was told by the service garage that it must have been a defective part. I find this very hard to believe. I don't feel safe driving my car. I have a fear that more things could have been done wrong and I also feel that things were said to be in need of replacing but infact were not. What would you do in my situation? Is is possible this to be a defective part? Does it sound reasonable that all these things could have been wrong with my car? It had 59 thousand miles on it. 95% of the miles are highway miles. Thanks for your help! Debbi

hopefully you had it towed back to the garage that did your repairs. it is hard to say without seeing it but a good road test should have been performed to make sure your car is safe. have them repair it, at no charge, and when it is done take it to someone else and have them double check it for safety if that makes you feel better. you also should be entitled to a rental car for your troubles at there expense. as far as new defective parts, yes it does happen but it should have happened to them and not you. Good luck Roy
