air conditional not blowing cold. mechanic said that the electrical system is out on air conditioner. how much would this repair cost. and it is worth it for a car with 150,000 miles

I'm not a mechanic but I've had this happen before. If your car is blowing air out of the vents, but over time it has gotten less and less cool when you use the A/C then you're probably just low on refrigerant. It's a $15 fix from any auto parts store that you can usually do yourself. If you have it done by a shop they might charge you up to $100. In my case I did have to pay a shop $80 to do it because the inlet valve for the refrigerant was too far inside for me to get to. Good luck.
Make sure it is not the controller. If it is, you can replace it yourself. I found the part at a junk yard and installed on the spot. Never had another problem with the air conditioner. Now other electrical--that's a different story.
