What is your question?
The car has 97,000 miles and has been well maintained. I made a trip of about 220 miles this weekend and half way through the trip I now hear a rattling noise at 1,500 rpm as it goes from gear to gear as I speed up. At about 1,800 RPM it stops making any rattling noise. Any thoughts what might be causing this? I drove half of this trip and stopped for about 3 hours and when I continued on it started making that noise. Car seems to run fine but makes the noise. If I am sitting still without the transmission engaged it does not make that noise but the trans seems to be shifting ok.

I am concerned that there could be an engine noise that you are hearing. It's hard to say since noises could be most anything. But if you had valve train noise, it could be within a certain RPM range, same thing with rod bearings - the noise can be more prevalent at one point verses another. Have a local qualified tech have a listen. That's the best next move.
Thanks, what has me confused is that when the car is sitting still and the transmission is not in engaged (in drive) it does not make any noise at all when I rev the engine. Thanks again.
Certainly it could be an internal transmission issue - one of the bearings could be making noise or something along those lines. Like you are figuring, if it only happens in gear, then it could be this.
