Car not getting any fuel??

Sometimes when i go to start the car its turns over but does not catch. It sounds like it wants to but its not getting any fuel. It doesnt do it everytime, just once in blue moon it will do it. i have sat for up to an hour trying to start it and then it catches and runs like nothing happened. Now recently (just two days ago) i started the car(no problem) and was reversing out of my driveway and the car shut off completly! nothing would turn on.. i sat there for about 5 mins and trun the key again and it started, but my radio was reset completely. I drove it to a stop light and my dashboard flickered on and off twice, then it shut off, i was in that instance able to restart the car right away to make it thru the light and go back home. Since that day I didnt drive anywhere until today and the car seems to be running fine again. Any ideas, suggestions anything as to what i could do please let me know. THanks
