What is your question?
When the a/c is on the temp is just above middle. When I turn it off the temp goes almost to the red. I have replaced both fan motors, thermostat and manifold gasket. radiator two yrs. old. One head replaced. My mechanic and I are both stymied. HELP please.

Does it go into the red? I delt with this before...you may have a normal condition you are trying to fix. Those years GM cars control the Cooling fans not to come on until about 210 degrees. So it will generally run hotter with A/C off and at idle. When the A/C is turned on the condenser fan comes on to control condenser temp and pressure. That also cools radiator when a/c is on. When car is moving at highway speeds the temp should remain normal with a/c on or off.
I had another mechanic tell me this also but am confused. This was not the normal temp for this car till about a year ago. It always ran far to the left of middle. So far temp stays below red but I keep trying to return it to the previous normal. So you think I should just live with this? Thanks for the info. I am replacing the water pump tomorrow, I noticed a small coolant leak but levels are ok.
The tempature should be about the same with or witout a/c on while moving at highway speeds with air movement across radiator. One other thing to check that often overlooked is check for dirt and debri that can block airflow across radiator and condensor. Chech front side of condenser and check for debri that can get between radiator and condensor.
Thanks...I'll try this. The leak has gone after the new water pump. That one was easy!
Good luck
