Hello, There is a little protrusion on the steering column that catches the turn signal switch as it turns around. They break from time to time, and they are called the cancelling cam, or a number of manufacturer specific names. Either the switch or cam has broken, and the windshield wiper switch must be replaced any time it malfunctions. I'm not sure what you mean by "lock status", but if the issue is mechanical to the switches on the lever, the entire lever must be replaced.
Thank you for your response. I stopped by an auto mechanic shop, he said by what I told him, the wiper knob on the hand level wouldn't turn, also the turn signals switch does not click off automatically. He said it sounds like the whole box has to be replaced the cost would be between $200 to $300. Do you feel this is fair estimate?
