Changed sensor on a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1L and now as soon as key is turned to on it goes straight to hot and light comes on. Only notice it's kind of hard to start now

Hello, it sounds like you may have a wiring connector issue, a wiring issue, or an improper sensor. If it's fully "hot" before the engine is even running it is certainly not reading wrong. I do not believe this has anything to do with how it is starting, but resolve what you know to be failed first -- so resolve the sensor concern and retest. Also - why did you change the sensor in the first place, and what tests were performed to show it was needed?
