Why are all my lights on my 4wd switch staying lit????

I have a '99 k2500 Suburban with new shift motor and new 4wd switch. This started as an early morning problem. First time I get in and start it up, all lights stay lit about 50% of the time but after 10 minutes or so of driving, stop at a store, turn the engine off and go in, come back and start it up, work fine. Also, sometimes when all lights are lit the transmission would shift wrong. Seems like it would go to second gear as soon as it started rolling then go to overdrive soon afterwards. This would stop when only one light lit. When you fist start the engine, all lights come on and I could hear a clicking sound along with a buzzing sound. The clicking sound stopped first, when the buzzing sound stopped, all but one light goes out showing what range is selected. Now I only hear the buzzing sound and when it stops all lights remain lit. Now it only works right about once every 1-2 months!! Appreciate any help with this problem!!! THANKS!!!!
