What is your question?
I'm just beginning to hear about this problem now that the warranty is expired. Over $1,600.00 dollars. We've had other problems with the Impala, that we paid repairs out of pockets. What ever happened to the all wheel drive Impala the dealers were telling us about four years ago. I'm talking to my wife about going to a Buick ?
What makes this problem better or worse?
nothing
How long has your 2014 Chevrolet Impala had this problem?
2 weeks

Hello, Sorry to hear about that. The biggest contributor, as I'm sure you know, is the salt used on the roadways. Highly corrosive to paint and metal. The best thing you can do with or without repairing the issue is to keep the vehicle clean in the winter. Washing the undercarriage regularly and storing indoors will help prevent further issues. If you have any other rust buildup already, that rust will continue to accelerate unless it is remediated. Buick is to Chevrolet as Lincoln is to Ford. You have the same engineering with either brand, and the same company backing both brands (GM). Buick is a more luxurious vehicle, and the amenities may be more to your wife's liking.
My wife washes her car regularly and it is kept in a heated garage. So much for solving your problem your way. Thanks for nothing!!!!!
You're very welcome, please let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
