What is your question?
Car has been having issues with battery. We jumped it two days in a row. No problems after. Today, we accidentally locked the steering wheel and ignition. Wiggling and turning key will not work. What is the fix?
How long has your 2009 Chevrolet Impala had this problem?
A few days

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. When the wheel is turned in your Impala while the ignition isn't turned on, the steering lock mechanism engages. Try wiggling the key in the ignition again, but this time, pull hard on the steering wheel in one direction or the other. You may have to try both ways to get it unlocked! If that doesn't work, make sure neither of your front tires is in contact with anything like a curb or parking block. As for your battery concern, the battery may have just gone bad. I would have it charged and tested to be sure. If it is still good, it sounds like you may have something in the car's electrical system that is staying on and draining the battery. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
