after leaving dealership upon being told i needed new vent solenoid, the check engine was not on and has not appeared since [three days] if there was a real need to replace item, wouldn't the check engine light come on again.

check after a week. car needs to go thru a drive cycle before engine light comes on. if it dont come back on its ok or if u get fuel smell replace
YES. The solenoid vent is located under the car by the gas filler cap the hose connect to the vent line.disconneted myself cost $33 from part store.
