* 2006 chevy impala with 130.000mi. just started screeching when I start up and there is another noise that sounds like water swishing back and forth. Anyone have any idea what this is
What makes this problem better or worse?

Thank you for reaching out to Car Genius. Typically with screeching, the first things I check are belt and pulley conditions. A damaged or worn belt and or a worn pulley from rust or wear can all cause screeching. Water swishing sounds is a bit tricky. It could be the sound of coolant being moved around in the engine, especially if there are air bubbles in the system. The AC system can also have water type sounds.
