My key won't turn sometime and my lights are faulty in my car, what is wrong?

I just got this impala a few days ago and I'm trying to figure out what are the issues. My headlights are all dim except for one and the interior lights refuse to shut off even with all the doors shut tight. Pressing the buttons doesn't cut them off and about 20 later at night they will shut off but it seems they refuse to shut off in the daytime. My ignitions is stubborn too. I barely can turn the key and this is my third set of keys. when I turn the ignition it makes a crazy sound like its trying to catch but yesterday the car wouldn't start a few times. I didn't have to jump start the car or anything. I've read that the ignition can cause all of this but also the alternator. Is there anything else that may cause this issue? I'm going to get a diagnosis on it tomorrow if I can, but I would like to hear your thoughts on what may be going on?
