Transmission shifting hard after fluid and filter changed

Assuming the fluid is full, and correct. I'd try over filling it, is possible the filter fell out and is laying on the bottom of the pan. Causing it not to be able to get the fluid it needs. Oh i see now it has 170k miles is this the oem trans or has it been reman'd (think those only last 90-120k miles)
