What is your question?
My friend was messing with the wires behind the cd player that was in the car when I bought it, then smoke came up from the cd player or wires, and then my parking lamps won't turn on and I need them to drive at night. When I turn the hazards on the parking lamps come on and the breaks, blinkers come on, What do you think I need to do to make them worm again?
How long has your 2002 Chevrolet Impala had this problem?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Smoke from behind the CD player is never a good sign—it's like a flare telling you there's a short circuit or fried wiring. Since your parking lamps only come on with the hazards, it's likely the wiring or a fuse related to the lighting circuit got damaged when your friend was "exploring." First, check the fuse box for blown fuses related to the parking lamps. If the fuses are fine, the issue is likely in the wiring harness behind the dash. A short circuit might have melted or disconnected wires, and your parking lamp circuit could be compromised. You’ll need to inspect and repair any damaged wires. If you're not comfortable with electrical work, this is a great time to visit a professional—it beats chasing ghosts in the wiring loom.
