coolant light stays on

I'm assuming the light is a coolant level warning, not for engine overheating. I'm also assuming that there is no sign of overheating or coolant leakage. Therefore I'd suspect the coolant level sensor is failing. Be sure the coolant is up to the proper level with the engine hot and cold.
