When my headlights come on automatically, or manually, the interior lights are off. Every once in a while they come back on while driving, but then may not come back on the next time I drive it. Any ideas? I have been told it could possibly be the "body control module", but this part is expensive, and I am not willing to just change it to "see" if that is the problem.

By interior lights, do you mean "dash" lights (back lighting) or courtesy lights? I am thinks dash lights but not sure.
Did you check all the fuses and stuff like that? I hear if you tap on the BCM sometimes itll make it work again for a bit. That might help you narrow it down if a few BCM taps creates a temporary fix
I mean the dash lights, buttons on the steering wheel, buttons on the doors, etc.
