Car starts but unable to move gear shift out of park

Hello, the shift interlock is released by depressing your brake pedal. This is achieved when the brake light switch is activated when pressing the brake pedal. If the switch is not working or there is some kind of wiring or wiring connector problem preventing communication of the switch, you will not be able to get the vehicle out of the Park position. Check this switch and connection first; you'll also notice the brake lights will not be working properly at the same time.
