What is your question?
When exiting the car, the chime doesn't work if you forget the key in the ignition, or leave the headlights on. Also, if you don't have on your seat belt.

You may want to check your door speaker for the driver door. Put the audio there and see if it plays. Also, the HHR has adjustable chime, though it is not able to turn off.
It plays but not as loud as the other speaker. That could be the problem?
It could/should be the issue, but you'll need to test the circuit. If you don't have a good knowledge base of testing procedures, try connecting another speaker and seeing if you can hear the chime through it.
Thanks. I've actually gotten used to not having the chime. I still get the warning light for seat belts & parking brake. Don't get the chime if I forget to take the key out of the ignition when I exit the car which is like the old school way. Am putting this matter on hold until I take the car in to the mechanic.
