What is your question?
Even when two mechanics put on a new belt, with one using all power to apply max tension on the belt, while the other mechanic tightens bolts: it still loosens & comes off before a 500 miles. Have owned the van since 1994 - when it was brand new. Have gone thru a minimum of a alternator dozen belts and at least 4 of the other 2 belts.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Time.
How long has your 1993 Chevrolet G30 had this problem?
Since it was new.

Hello, Frustrating issue i'm sure! It's a fairly simple system to inspect, but problems may not always be occurring. It is possible that you may not be getting the proper adjustment with the related pulleys. One or multiple pulleys could be intermittently binding during normal operation. A physical inspection of each pulley checking for drag may reveal the culprit. Lastly, belt alignment could be tweaked for some reason. Have a look to ensure the pulleys visually line up properly without even a fraction of deviation.
Belt misalignment! .. Find out WHY the belt(s) are not properly aligned with the applicable accessory pulley(s) .. Laser 'belt alignment tool' is available for testing .. Misalignment probably not conspicuous to the naked eye. Close examination of the pulley side of the old belt is helpful.
