why do I smell gas on passenger side when filler tube is on drivers side ?

What is your question?

not sure if I have 22 or 33 gal tank. No leaks under van.

What makes this problem better or worse?

notice it when full but not sure if it continues when half or more empty. Only 2nd tank of gas

How long has your 1994 Chevrolet G20 had this problem?

Cause that the side the driver is likely to be closest to most of the time. Fuel leaks aren’t always conspicuous - at times may be difficult to locate even with vehicle hoisted.
