capacity for antifreeze 350ci, 5.7 liter tbi Chiltons tells me 5 gallons three quarts. seems high. am I misinterpreting the data?

Even with a HD radiator with the 5.7 this van will hold about 3 1/2 to 'maybe' 4 1/2 gallons of coolant, which should be a 50-50 mix of glycol and H20!.. Just be sure the antifreeze concentrate is sufficient.. 'REGARDLESS' .. When it gets full... Stop adding coolant!!!... The coolant's freezing point is very easily tested!!!'

5 gallons 3 quarts for a 350 sounds normal . ( 23 quarts ) This is a TOTAL of 50/50 mix. radiators for 350 can be big to, some 2 core , some 4 core. Some heater cores are big too. NOTE: Not all antifreeze protects to the same temperature @ 50/50, so read the label
