03 express 3500 why won't start gear selector not adjusting

What is your question?

Gear selector moves on column and trans, but, gear selector display does not move from 2, (2nd gear), vehicle won't start. How can i reset so I can start and drive?

Park Neutral switch on the transmission, just behind the shift linkage is suspect... 'IF'... *IF* The trans linkage IS actually shifting to desired gear!... Try to start with shifter in NEUTRAL... May help to move shift lever back and forth a bit while HOLDING key to start position. .. PN switch is also called the 'Range Selector Sensor'... There is no reset!!!
