trying to locate the crankshaft position sensor it's not under the starter, help

'IF' it's the 5.7L .. It is up front of engine and that is a VERY RELIABLE Part on GM... What's the actual problem... Van won't run? .. No spark?? .. Proven crank sensor is the culprit??? .. Reply and we just might save you some work and $$$!
