I have a 1997 chevy G1500 conversion van the headlights

I have smelled something burning and touched the switch one time before and it was hot so I bought a new one and it worked for a while then started doing the same thing again

Did you check the wire connector for any signs of melting or bleckened terminals? The connector is available at NAPA. A poor connection produces high resistance which produces heat and unless corrected, ten new switches aint going to help! Any work done on, or anything added to the lighting system? Factory DRL's are not your problem!
