What is your question?
Drove equinox through flood water deep enough my feet got wet while driving. Car stalled wouldn’t start, had towed home, been drying out for 6 days. Checked the oil, no water. Replaced air filter, it was soaking wet. No water in spark plugs. Charged the battery, now it cranks and almost starts, but just wont do it. Any suggestions?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Equinox. Driving through flood water that deep can definitely cause some hidden issues, even if the engine didn’t take in water directly. Since it cranks and almost starts, you may be dealing with an electrical or fuel-related issue caused by moisture. Even though the air filter was soaked and the spark plugs look dry, water could have made its way into connectors, sensors, or the fuse box. If water got into electrical connectors, it could cause short circuits. Fuel pump relays and ignition components are common trouble spots after water exposure. Although you have been letting the car dry out, it can take quite a long time for water-intruded electronics to dry.
