What is your question?
So my car is making this almost rapid clicking/knocking noise when the AC is on. I turned the AC off and just had it blowing and it doesn't make the noice and same when you turn the heat on. It only makes the noice when the AC button is pressed. I changed the oil today. I don't hear the sound in the cabin of the car. Only on the outside.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Turning the AC button off.

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Excellent job keeping the Equinox happy with a fresh oil change! Given that noise is only present when the button is pressed, the source is highly likely to be your A/C compressor. Depending on the vehicle, pressing that button either sends a signal to a module which commands the compressor to be turned on, or engages a relay which turns the compressor on. Either way you'll want to have it diagnosed professionally, repairs to the air condition system require special equipment and training. The refrigerant will need to be recovered and recycled responsibly to avoid any negative impact on the environment.
