What is your question?
I just got my car back form the dealership where they were fixing an timing belt , water pump, oil problems and now they wipers won't turn on the arm control but if I push it forward or backward to wash the windshield it works.
How long has your 2017 Chevrolet Equinox had this problem?
since 7.12.24

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! That's quite the coincidence – you get your Equinox back from the shop, and suddenly, the wipers go on strike! Given that they work when you use the washer function but not from the control arm, it sounds like the problem might be with the wiper control switch itself. When the dealership was working on the timing belt and water pump, they might have inadvertently jostled or disconnected something in the steering column. First, double-check the wiper fuse to make sure it’s intact. If that’s all good, it’s likely the switch assembly that needs attention. It might just be a loose connection or, in the worst case, a faulty switch that needs replacing. Since it just came back from the dealership, I'd recommend heading back and explaining the issue – they might have some insight or even take responsibility for the fix.
