What is your question?
Seems my 2014 Equinox engine cranks a little longer and starts with a more explosive sound this winter. Starts smooth as silk in the summertime. Is this normal? Thx in advance for any help.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Cold weather

Winter will make for a slightly longer crank even on modern day engines. The more explosive sound is a little tough to understand without hearing it but I suspect it could be due to a high rpm consistant with very cold weather starts. Also thicker engine oil can cause a slightly longer cranks. If you have no codes and it runs good other wise you are probably ok. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have the battery load tested. If its original it could be close to the end of its life. Alex
Thx for your reply. Makes sense.
