What is your question?
My parents bought a 2010 Chevy Equinox with 15,000 miles on it. Twice now it would not start. They took it to the dealer and they told them there is nothing wrong with it. Told them they need to pull the key from the ignition every time because if they don't it will run the battery down. Has anybody ever heard of this? I know if you want the listen to the radio you should turn the key to acc. so you don't run the battery down but having to pull the key in your own garage sounds crazy.

Actually it is not crazy and I will explain why. Your car/suv has dozens of computer systems and as soon as you put in they key the are turned on and using power. So as long as you have the key in your ignition, some of the computers are on and using power, the only way to turn them off is to remove the key completely. Car are very, very complicated these days, most 2010 cars have around 30-40 computer systems, many of which is more powerful than a desktop computer. Hope that this info sheds some light. When I work in the shop, I NEVER leave the key in the ignition, I put it on top of the dash with the driver's window rolled down.
