What is your question?
Hi. My 2010 Chevrolet Equinox keeps shutting off when I come to a stop. The engine also kicks sometimes when i’m driving, and after I come to a stop when I press the gas. The check engine light has been in since the car was purchased and I was told it was due to a dirty sensor. I’ve had the air filter replaced , sensors cleaned and replaced , the right lower control arm replaced , and just had an oil change and an engine flush. I’ve also noticed a decrease in gas milage. My car has 144,000 miles on it and was informed by the dealership that the car had no previous or current issues.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It’s worse after my car runs for a while.
How long has your 2010 Chevrolet Equinox had this problem?
A few months.

Hey, my name is Dusty, and I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. I'm here to help! Hey there! It sounds like you're dealing with some concerning issues with your vehicle. If your engine stalls at stops, kicks while driving, or hesitates when you press the gas, there's clearly a more serious issue than just a dirty sensor. The persistent check engine light indicates an unresolved underlying problem; given the circumstances, there may be multiple, likely causing the engine struggles. Several factors, such as fuel delivery system, ignition, mechanical, or electrical issues, could be at play. Getting a thorough diagnostic from a professional technician who can pinpoint the exact cause of these problems is essential. They’ll ensure that the root cause of the problem is identified and addressed properly, rather than just treating the symptoms. This approach will help you avoid further damage and ensure your car runs smoothly and safely. Don’t let these issues linger, as they can lead to more significant and costly repairs down the line.
