has there been a recall on 2008 Chevy Equinox for paint peeling off.

The same exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It's on the upper rear doors on both sides and hatch door. My 2008 Equinox is white and is now grey where the paint peeled off and is now starting to rust. I contacted the dealer and they don't want to deal with the problem. I contacted GM this weekend in hopes to get some answers. Have you found out anything further and what our recourse might be? Thanks

Have you heard anything back from GM? just noticed mine is doing the same thing on the back quarter panels on both sides I am considering calling GM.

So my white 2008 equinox has the exact same thing. Paint all peeled in the back on both sides. Took back to dealer. They told me something must have splashed on it. Seriously?? On the exact same places on each side?? I am so angry.

Gm told me they didnt know of any other cases where this happened. The dealership I went to said that gm had a problem with the primer chalking causing the primer to separate from metal and he said is definitely a factory issue. I have A 2008 black equinox came home saturday from work and found all my paint gone from drivers back door.And passenger side paint looks like orange peeling.went to dealer and he wants me to bring it back so his body man can see it.I hope they do something. Ill keep my fingers crossed.

I am too embarrassed to drive my 2009 equinox. Sheets of paint has come off. GM says it’s not their problem

They told us the same thing. We took it there and they said it was factory default but they won’t repaint my car

Said it would cost too much to repaint the whole car. What a disgrace. My white equinox is so ugly now. They ran out of primar when it was painted at the factory they said

I finally got some satisfaction from GM through my dealer. They agreed to repaint the problem area, from the seam in the panel above the doors on each side and the back of the car. I agreed to pay a $350 copay. I really should not have, but need the car fixed to prevent further destruction. It took a great deal of work on my part, but have bought several cars from the dealer and every time I got a no, I asked to speak to someone above the person I had talked to.

I have a 2009 BLACK equinox... Mine just started today...was driving & thought something was on my roof flying off(dirt). NO!!! It was the PAINT!!! Same 2008 Equinox With Roof Paint Problems. What Can Owners Do To Resolve This Problem. Should Be A Factory Recall.

My Blue 2008 Equinox is doing the same thing above the driver rear doors and on the roof. It just started a couple days ago and I have the same primer problem leaving a white chalky residue. The surrounding paint is starting to have the same problems (pitting/small pinpricks) and this includes the Passenger side above the rear door. I would be happy to send you my pictures if I can get you to send the pictures you have and that you have received from other Equinox owners that are experiencing or have experienced the same issues.
