Hi! This is Bo with Car Genius at RepairPal! Coolant loss is serious stuff! When the car can't cool the engine off because of lack of coolant it shuts down non-essential systems like the air conditioning, to protect itself. The real worry here is where the coolant is going. I suggest having the car towed somewhere to have a pressure test performed and possibly a chemical test if the engine has overheated more than once or for an extended period of time. If you're not finding coolant externally it could mean a bigger problem. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554! We'll be happy to find you a certified shop in your area!
