What is your question?
I took my car to a mechanic for this but they couldn't get the sound to occur, so they charged me $100 for looking at it and didn't diagnose the problem. It only happens at random, and it seems to almost always occur when I get home from work late at night. I can go shopping all day and not have it happen once... But what it started out as wasa loud noise that seemed to be coming from the engine that only happened once car was completely turned off. And now it is a harsh loud vibration. I did get a recording of it today finally and will try to figure out how to attach it. Idk that it has anything to do with it, but this all started to happen after I got my oil changed. I was thinking it was the engine but now I'm worried it's something else. I have two little kids so I don't want to drive the car around if it is unsafe. It also only happens periodically not every time I shut it off.
How long has your 2014 Chevrolet Cruze had this problem?
A few weeks

Hello, Upload that video anywhere and send me a link with permission to view. I'll listen to it and advise to the best of my ability. You will have better luck letting your technician listen to it.

Let me know if you’re able to get the link to work or not
Hi, sorry for the delay. That sounds like "dieseling" as it's often called. I'm not saying it is the case, but that's what it sounds like. If you have someone with a borescope (a tiny camera on a flexible line), they can look into the engine through the spark plug holes and look for large chunks of carbon deposited on the pistons. If they exist, they are likely getting red hot while the engine is running, and the trace amount of fuel left in the cylinders after you turn off the car are being ignited. Of course, this would be a very rough running engine, and you would get vibration. listen to this and see if that sound reminds you of your condition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wo8cVCTvv-I Oh, one thing to add, it would be impossible for your engine to chug and shake like the one in the video, it would only be for a second or two on yours.
