Codes that pop up are p0420, u0100, p2076 some are permanent, some pending, some both. When I pull ring on shifter up to put in reverse it seems to come up far enough but reverse lights never come on then when clutch being release car goes forward. Cuts out worse when clutch completely out.

Hello, it's sounding like a few different concerns happening -- one, your clutch and / for slave cylinder and / or clutch master cylinder may be compromised. This could prevent you from getting the shift lever into reverse.
As far as the cutting out - sounds like an engine performance issue. P0420 is a code that comes on when the catalytic converter effectiveness is in question - as measured by the oxygen sensor before and the oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter. Doesn't mean 100% that the catalytic converter has failed, but could mean that. There are other tests that need to be performed first to know. Your P2076 is a code that could be showing evidence of a problem that can be affecting your performance - it affects air getting into the engine via the intake manifold runner controls. A link may become detached or another problem may be present.
