I do I connect the wire on passenger side of 2014 Corvette manual transmission?

The connector has a red slide up clip that faces upwards toward the sky. It seams to me the connector should slide all the way over the base to the transmission. This wire is on the passenger side of the 2014 Corvette manual 7 speed. I thought it was for the skip shift eliminator but I was wrong. I need help. Even with a pliers it will not move. I ha3no idea what this wire does.. Can't find any information on the web.. Thankyou
