This is a tough one to answer over the internet. There are several reasons that message could come up. The code may need to be cleared in multiple places even after the problem is corrected. If you could tell me what codes it has/had or any other test results from the dealer I could try to help you further also what the battery voltage is as displayed in the DIC and as measured at the battery terminals. We specialize in Corvette and Cadillac and I know we could fix it if it were in our shop. But, then again we have all the right tools and can take all the measurements we need. Over the internet it can be pretty tough. My gut says the alternator was never the issue. Possibly and L-terminal issue or a battery cable voltage drop issue. But that is just WAG (Wild *ss Guess) without the car in front of me or some test results. Will the car make it Central Pinellas? Or does it die from not charging? You can call me tomorrow at 727-430-8750 and I'll try to help you as much as I can. You'll probably get Desiree. Just ask for Russell and tell her it is about a 2006 Vette on RepairPal.
