My name is Russell I own a shop in Pinellas Park, Fl that specializes in Cadillacs and Corvettes. The primary battery feed for the Alternator is routed through the starter terminal. Due to the starter's proximity to the exhaust manifolds we often find the terminals at the starter melted, corroded, or worked loose from heat cycling. That would be my first suspicion without seeing the vehicle. Sometimes the starter terminals can be cleaned but often the starter or solenoid needs to be replaced. If that doesn't pan out you could always drive up from Sarasota we have customers down there that make the drive up. Or you could bring it up and we could check the starter terminals and do what diagnosis is needed. We add a heat shield anytime we replace these starters to prevent any future issues. Call us at 727-430-8750 if you need any more info or want to schedule an appointment.
thank you russell checked starter and solenoid and both were ok there was a engine dress kit installed and the alt cover was installed wrong thats what messed up the alt the cover dug into the alt wire they think it may be a computer issue is there an upgrade to the software? thanks, bruce
