What is your question?
Car overheated. I towed it togarage, he said it was the water pump and said toi change the serpentine belt and tensioner. Drive it for 2 week's and it started making loud noise i found the belt was half off. I towed it back and now he says iit's ther crack shaft. Question is can the belt be put on wrong cause the crack shaft to break? TY I think the garage broke the crank shaft. What you think?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing

Hello, to me, it sounds like perhaps you need another opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a concern with the harmonic balancer - which is the crankshaft pulley, which could be worn out and requiring replacement. In this case, it's typically the deterioration of the dampener that causes it to be noisy and vibrate. However -- one wonders if the water pump and tensioner was indeed a problem in the first place, and one wonders if the belt could have been possibly routed wrong. Too hard to say at this point; but i would definitely suggest a second opinion. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops/chevrolet-repair-and-service-in-dumont-new-jersey
