Engine runs smooth, all gauges read normal, no codes show up when hooked up by mechanic.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Take for a drive and after I stop on maybe 3rd stop. turn off and then restart car, the light comes on. Then after I turn car off for a couple hours the light goes off.
How long has your 1994 Chevrolet Corvette had this problem?

Hello, well - a check engine light coming on should indeed set diagnostic trouble codes that you should be able to retrieve with a suitable diagnostic tool. Saying that you have a check engine light that comes on but have no codes - something doesn't make sense here.
