Why or what would cause my cooling system to not flow with the thermostat removed..(yes i have a blown head gasket) but that wouldnt cause it right?

not having a thermostat will blow a head gasket. it must be in the motor to circulate all the fluid in the motor. the head must be removed, checked for cracks, planed and replaced along with the thermostat. then you need to find the original reason why it overheated. the head gasket is a result of not having a thermostat, not the cause of overheating. thanks for using repairpal Roy
